Assistant Professor Hirosho Seki and his colleagues have obtained a patent relating to synthetic medical data generation technology using AI.

Awards

The technology “data generation device and data generation method” developed by Assistant Professor Hirosho Seki and his colleagues was registered as a patent on 2026/10/19.

This technology applies AI belonging to the generation model and controls the properties of the generated synthetic data based on the degree of similarity with the characteristics extracted from actual medical data. This makes it possible to generate virtual patient data according to specific diseases and clinical trial conditions, and is expected to be applied to clinical trial simulations and improving

the efficiency of drug development.

This technology was born from interdisciplinary fusion research by the Nihon University Faculty of Science and Engineering and the Faculty of Pharmacy, and was developed based on research carried out with support from the Nihon University Academic Research Grants (Comprehensive Research [Reiwa 2-3], Project Number: 20-1601, Research Representative: Yasuhiro Tsuji), the research project “Interdisciplinary Approaches of Artificial Intelligence and Pharmacokinetics Leading to Successful Disease Elucidation and Personalized Administration.”
