Hobbies:
  • Piano: playing almost all kinds of music, especially improvising Jazz, classical, Brasilian, and popular music, attended as a pianist at '91 Yamano Big-Band Jazz Contest held in Tokyo, and toured for the concerts at a number of colleges & universities around in Tokyo, Kawasaki, and Yokohama areas.
  • Composition: awarded a special prize on music composition, the 39th Oikawa classical music competition, Apr. 2017.
  • Teaching how to play the piano: having some teaching experiences at several popular music schools.
  • Composing/arranging/analysing musical suites: (mainly on the computer).
  • Organising musical events: see here for the previous concerts I have organised so far.
  • Computing: programing useful tools on the computers (including Windows, Mac-OS, SUN-OS, Linux, X-Windows, and IBM AIX-OS, having some experiences as a system administrator on SUN-OS machines), using C/BASIC/Pascal language families (like ANSI-C, Java, Perl, AWK & Sed, Tcl & Tk, JavaScript, VBScript, VBA, Delphi, C-Shell ... ) and Dynamic-HTML (HTML 4.0, CSS, ActiveX, etc.).
  • Playing sports: skating (both ice skating and roller blading), skiing, cycling, playing badminton, and table tennis.
  • General: Travelling, reading novels (especially Tatsuzo Ishikawa, Osamu Dazai, Juhgo Kuroiwa, and Sohseki Natsume and psychological literature (Jung study) by Hayao Kawai), and writing essays and poems.
